Parking Issues

Postby jawal1 » Mon Mar 08, 2010 4:39 pm

Did you know that all Local Authorities (including Redbridge) are obliged by law to make public their policies and guidelines regarding the issuing and cancellation of Penalty Charge Notices (commonly known as Parking Tickets).

This information may be found here

Near the bottom of the webpage there is a 'click on' for a pdf document. You will need Acrobat Reader if you download this to your computer.

The most common reason for succesfully appealing a PCN is missing or incorrect signage (post-signs and road-markings), so it always worth doing so in those circumstances.

I tried to download the pdf earlier but got a 'Server not found' response.

Perhaps the Redbridge Gestapo have read your informative post and included it in the Redbridge-i lockout?

The thot plickens (to coin a phrase) as I have been informed that, if one attempts to access the Ticketfighter website from a Library computer (i.e. on Council property), then it gets blocked by the "undesirable website" filter (intended for porn sites and other "illegal or questionable" websites).

The website may have been mis classified, or not classified at all with the filtering service. When you get a message saying "blocked site" or whatever, you should also get a link where you can inform the website filtering administrators that the website is genuine. I would send them such communication stating this is a genuine website and should be classified as a public service website or at least classified as being safe, stating your reasons.

At the very least there should be an email address to enable you to contact the filtering service administrator.

Yes but - this has only recently started happening (within the last week) so someone has possibly changed something very recently.
